Day 536

day 536

On this Summer Solstice we were treated to a bona fide cold front right in the middle of June. It was breezy and tolerable outside, all day long. As a result, the boys had friends over for most of the afternoon, and their happy company allowed me to get several hours of work in. I ended the day with a walk over the Ringling Bridge under a gorgeous sunset.

Aside from splitting chemo pills and refilling the medicine box for the week, nothing about this day had anything to do with leukemia. On days like this I wonder if I should continue writing each night. But each night, when I exhale into this space, IĀ find gratitude waiting here for me, and I remember why I return.
